I am, so far as I am aware, the only cello professor in North American who holds a law degree. Now in my 4th year teaching at Ohio State, I spent nearly 30 years working in western Canada, starting as principal cello of the Calgary Philharmonic and ending as Associate Professor at Brandon University School of Music. My main musical interest has always been chamber music: I played piano trios with my parents (both professionals) from pretty much the time I started playing cello, have studied and performed with many of the great collaborative artists, play regularly in a half-dozen ensembles and have coached upwards of 200 student string quartets.
